Homage of the Dragons

As a part of the “Homage of the Dragons - A Pilgrimage led by the Masters of the Dragon (Drukpa) Order”, His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa will be leading a pilgrimage to Bhunter, Garsha and Rewalsar (Tsho Pema) between September 7 and 12, 2018.

The Path of the Dragon Yogis Retreat 2017

The focus of the retreat is to ensure that one will understand the general essence of the Himalayan Vajrayana Buddhism. The retreat provides a more modern and interactive learning approach with an all encompassing package - direct teachings by His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa, group book reading and discussions sessions, Q and A sessions with the Resident Khenpo, familiarization of the Buddhist prayers and practices with the sangha and exposure to the Buddhist Culture, traditions and values. This retreat will be followed by more Advanced level retreats in the future.

Naropa Festival returns to Ladakh after 12 years

Ladakh’s largest Buddhist festival, Naropa events, will be held in Hemis Monastery from 16 to 22 September. Known as the Kumbh Mela of the Himalayas, the festival, held once every 12 years in the monkey year, is expected to draw half a million devotees from across the Himalaya.

His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa partakes in Mountain Echoes 2016

The first day of Mountain Echoes was an extensive discussion filled with intellectually stimulating and thrilling conversations. 

It began with Indian ambassador Jaideep Sarkar and the acclaimed Indian writer Amitav Ghosh discussing climate change and the environment along with Amitav Ghosh’s new book titled The Great Derangement: Climate Change and the Unthinkable. 

Amitav Ghosh painted a grim picture of the world facing catastrophic events related to climate change. He described climate change as a great weariness that usually don’t get included in novels today.

Amitav Ghosh stressed on the importance of being able to find a way to tell these difficult stories without a human protagonist. Not being able to write a story about climate change is a challenge faced by writers today, he said.

A panel discussion on “Mindful CEO”

August 13, 2016: A panel discussion on “Mindful CEO” was organized at Druk Ralung Shedrup Choling monastery today. The panelists included His Eminence Gyalwa Dokhampa, Aum Phub Zam, President of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Piyush Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of DBS , Singapore and the session was moderated by Ashi Kesang Choden T. Wangchuck.

His Eminence's speech during Longevity (Tenzhug) Ceremony

To all dharma brothers and sisters from Drukpa monasteries, volunteers, international guests and guests from the local community.

I would like to thank everyone from the depth of my heart for doing this. His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa told me that I should be doing this long life ceremony because next year is my obstacle year and I may encounter some obstacles in my life. To that, I was saying to His Holiness that “I don’t need any long life ceremony because long life ceremonies are usually performed for Spiritual Masters who have the power to decide whether to live or not
